Nick is a Naval Architect with extensive experience in the marine and yachting sectors, as well as founder of Latus Mare Consulting, being responsible for company’s operations.

And Nick has made some crucial ones as he has been involved and led variety of projects during his career, as a technical advisor, providing his assistance to Vessel Owner’s, Charterers, Cargo Interests, Marine insurers, P&I Clubs, flag administrations, law firms and other maritime institutions and parties.

Nick has been engaged in field work for several types of survey including but not limited to, condition surveys, risk assessment surveys, pre-purchase surveys, damage surveys, towage approval surveys and flag surveys.

He has significant expertise in marine casualties such as fire, grounding, machinery damages, collision and pollution incidents, cargo damage as well as a solid background in the analysis and investigation of these. Since 2019 he is qualified as an Associate of the Association of Average Adjusters, empowering him to gain a comprehensive understanding of claims management processes, policy conditions, and maritime law issues.

Nick has attended a number of high profile salvage operations and also appointed as salvage superintendent and naval architect on behalf of salvage contractors engaged actively both in required studies, calculations and on site inspections. Moreover, he has submitted expert reports and acted as an expert witness in numerous cases held at Greek courts.

In addition to merchant shipping, Nick has extensive experience in yachting sector having served as Yachting Department Director at another technical marine consultancy firm, having engaged and managed extensive refit projects, complex repairs and retrofits, various types of inspections, whilst he also specialized in coating inspections.

Nick is member of Greek Technical Chamber, certified FROSIO & Yacht Coating inspector (RMCI), certified OPRC OSR Level 1 & 2, Ship Recycling HAZMAT Expert.
Outside of his working life you can find Nick sailing and travelling around the world exploring new cultures and sceneries.
